Our Outreach Campaign

For more than 25 years, The Piton Foundation has conducted the Tax Credits for Working Families Public Information Campaign to help increase the number of eligible families receiving the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), the Child Tax Credit and other valuable credits that help families make ends meet. Tax credits, especially the EITC, are proven to be to an effective tool for increasing the financial security of hard-working Colorado families.

Campaign strategy
Piton's public information campaign utilizes three overarching strategies to build awareness in the community about the EITC and free tax help.
Community Outreach
We partner with hundreds of nonprofit, community and government organizations to distribute educational tax materials to working families. In addition, we participate in numerous events to reach EITC-eligible families.
Employer Outreach
We partner with businesses to help educate eligible employees who can benefit from the EITC. Employees who claim the EITC have more money to pay for reliable transportation to get to work, child care expenses, and other financial needs, which leads to higher retention for employers.
Traditional Marketing
We execute a traditional marketing campaign that includes television, newspaper and radio advertising, direct mail, digital ads and social media, to ensure hard-working Colorado families know about these resources.
